About Me:
He is. Basically spirit having a human experience, his 69th. How does he know this? Astral nights while asleep spent as librarian in training at the Bibliothèque des imprimeries akashique. Days downtown on the computer designing websites made with love and a dash of feng shui, nights of headphones, yoga, raga, staring out to sea, endless reading, candle-lit reverence and CSI reruns, waiting for the next novel by William Gibson or Haruki Murakami, often in vain. Aspirations toward book design and small press publishing. He runs a small boutique web design studio in Santa Barbara called Silverthreaded. Tiptoes into the unknown via a blog called Spiral. One block over and one down, in the present participle building. Witnessing the emergence always already in the future but moving back in time of a novel called Hotel V. Visualizing researching outlining and bringing into being another book on feng shui & web design. Namkha is a loving, devoted student of Yeshe Tsogyal, wisdom dakini, ascended mistress, Lady of Great Bliss - across oceans of time. Late at night he practices as an SRT consultant (pendulum healing based on the work of Robert Detzler). A long time ago in a galazaad far far away, under a different name and hairstyle, he attempted to be a graduate student in comparative literature, a scholarly and intriguing discipline with no jobs waiting at the tail end. D'oh! Indeed, he read many books in French and German, made music (band called Friends of the House, the name from a Heidegger essay, the music a strange cross of Black Sabbath, Butthole Surfers, Can and The Fall) with Monsieur Grant and Monsieur Slawney; ran wild in the streets, while forging, inching and stumbling ahead with a monstrously overextended dissertation project that involved “essay film and the art of memory,” but also the history of inquiry into paranoia, rhetoric, memory palaces, documentary film, surveillance, the essay form, self-portrait media and theories of inscription. Much fun was had, many outlines made, zaadz of chapters came to halflife. Later he became a high-tech worker bee and began accumulating graphical, coding and project management skills and a familiarity with corporate culture, via the learning crucible of a subterranean think-tank funded by Mr. Paul Allen, owner of a yacht at least as big as those of Mr. Gates or Mr. Ellison. He ran wild in the streets of San Francisco (until all his friends had shied away from his astral disaster), chasing a myriad of illusions, veils and mirages, seeking the black and the white but running always, like CTALKR, into the Zone, ruled by gray, elven and inkblot. Time passed and things happened, beyond the bounds of his previous conceptual horizons. At one point he began to laboriously construct a website dedicated - among many other obessive & gnostique interests - to the cinematic work of Chris Marker. At some other point, stripped down to the core and finding there the unborn, primordial dot, he encountered the spirit world, began to play there and run less wild. In the writiings of Tibetans from over a millenia ago, some hidden in time, some hidden in rock, some hidden in Mind, he found a whole new realm of arcane litererature and remains engaged, in a lone wolf manner to be sure, full of crazy wisdom and shambhalic rêverie, in Vajrayana Buddism of the Early Translation School. Recently, he discovered in the crevices of a porous memory system that he used to paint watercolor freestyle-abstract, and think he might enjoy rekindling this passion. All along these gardens of forking paths, our namkha has remained a being with a rabelaisian appetite for music & books and a borgesian calling for collecting, arranging, savoring and recombining them, in short a blind librarian of babel. These days he can be found with Sennheiser (home) or Bose (work) headphones on, listening to ambient electronica and other music suited to relaxation, meditation and mindfulness, with the ocassional lapse into cranking Alice in Chains, while forging diligently ahead (or at times sideways) on his work as a web craftsperson. He makes a mean espresso, types faster than his guardian angel can fly and likes to rock out and dance when the ocassions arise. And they do arise.
